Paneer Manchurian Recipe

INGREDIENTS

200 gms paneer
¼ cup plain flour or maida
3 tbsp corn flour
Catch salt, as required
½ tsp Catch red chili powder (can also be replaced with Catch black pepper powder)
Water, as required
Oil, for frying

For Manchurian sauce:
1 tbsp olive oil
½ – ¾ tbsp garlic, minced
½ – ¾ tbsp ginger, minced
¼ cup spring onion whites chopped
¼ – ½ cup capsicum, chopped
1 tsp corn flour
½ cup water
1 ½ tbsp soya sauce
2 tbsp tomato sauce
¾ – 1 tsp sugar
½ – ¾ tsp vinegar
Catch salt, as required
2 tbsp spring onion greens

Accompaniments with Paneer Manchurian:

  • Fried Rice
  • Noodles
  • Paneer Chilly

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying the paneer.
  1. While the oil heats, add corn flour, maida, Catch salt and Catch red chili powder to a bowl. Add water just enough to make a free-flowing batter. The consistency must be moderately thick.
  1. Dip the paneer in this batter and deep fry.
  1. Stir often and fry until golden brown and crisp. Drain them on a kitchen tissue.
  1. Add 1 tsp corn flour to a bowl and add water. Mix and make a lump free slurry. Keep this aside.
  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wide pan. Regulate the flame to high.
  1. Add ginger-garlic and sauté for a minute.
  1. Add spring onion whites and fry for a minute or two.
  1. Add capsicum and sauté for a minute.
  1. Pour soya sauce, tomato sauce and corn slurry. Make sure you stir the corn slurry once before pouring it to the pan.
  1. Add more water if needed. Reduce the flame to medium and add sugar.
  1. Add Catch black pepper powder, Catch salt and vinegar, if needed.
  1. Allow the sauce to turn thick and turn off the flame.
  1. Add the fried paneer and spring onion greens.
  1. Serve hot.

  • Alter the seasoning as per your taste.
