Onion Pakora Recipe

INGREDIENTS 2 medium- large sized onions 1 cup gram flour ½ tsp Catch red chili powder 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves (optional) ¼ tsp Catch turmeric powder 1 tsp carom seeds 1 pinch of Catch asafoetida (optional) Oil for shallow frying or deep frying Water as required Catch table salt to taste Accompaniments with Onion Pakora:

  • Ketchup
  • Green Chutney
  • Masala Chai


  1. In hot oil, add the batter one spoon after other.
  2. Make sure you don’t over crowd the pan with a lot of batter at once.
  3. Continue frying all the batter.
  4. Fry till they are golden and crispy.
  5. Drain the pakoras on a kitchen tissue.
Recipe Notes/Suggestions:
  • Alter the seasoning as per your taste.
  • You can also shallow fry them, however, the taste will differ.
