Chingri Malai Curry Recipe

INGREDIENTS 400 gm prawns 3 tbsp mustard oil ½ tsp whole cumin 2 tsp Catch dry ginger powder 2 tsp Catch cumin powder 1 tsp Catch red chili powder 1 tsp Catch turmeric powder Salt, as required 2 tsp sugar 1 tsp Catch garam masala powder 1 ¼ cup coconut milk 2 tsp ghee Accompaniments with Chingri Malai Curry:

  • Rice
  • Puris
  • Rotis


  1. Blanch the prawns in Catch turmeric powder and water mixture.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add sugar and whole cumin.
  3. Add Catch dry ginger powder, Catch cumin powder, Catch red chili powder and turmeric powder, sauté.
  4. Now add the prawns and slit green chilies. Mix and stir well.
  5. Add the coconut milk, cook for few minutes and then add salt.
  6. In the end, sprinkle Catch garam masala powder and ghee. Serve hot.
Recipe Notes/Suggestions:
  • Adjust the spices as per your taste.
  • Make sure you don’t overcook the prawns.
