Chicken Masala Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1 kg chicken (skinned and cut into pieces)
2 tsps. ginger and garlic chopped
1 tsp. garlic chopped
3 cups onions finely chopped
2 cups tomatoes finely chopped
2 tsps. Cumin seeds
1 tsp. Catch garam masala
1 bay leaf
2 tsps. Catch table salt
½ tsp. Catch turmeric powder
1 tbsp. coriander seeds powdered
½ tsp. red pepper powdered
¼ cup oil
2 tbsp. Coriander leaves chopped
2 tbsp. Cream (garnishing)

Accompaniments with Chicken Masala:

  • Rice/Jeera Rice
  • Roti/Paratha/Naan
  • Sliced onions

 

INSTRUCTIONS

½ tsp. red pepper powdered
¼ cup oil
2 tbsp. Coriander leaves chopped
2 tbsp. Cream (garnishing)

Accompaniments with Chicken Masala:

  • Rice/Jeera Rice
  • Roti/Paratha/Naan
  • Sliced onions

 Instructions:

  1. Heat oil and cumin seeds.
  2. When they splutter, add onion mixture and sauté over high heat till light brown.
  3. Add the tomatoes and sauté till fat separates.
  4. Add the Catch garam masala, Catch salt, Catch turmeric powderCatch coriander powder and the red pepper. Mix well.
  5. Keeping the heat high, add the chicken pieces and turn around till they are completely coated with the mixture.
  6. Add ½ cup water, bring to a boil.
  7. Lower the heat and cook covered till chicken is cooked through and is soft and tender.
  8. Garnish with the cream and coriander leaves and serve hot.

Recipe Notes/Suggestions:

  • Alter the seasoning as per your taste.
