Chicken Haleem Recipe

INGREDIENTS 4 Boneless Chicken pieces, cut in ½ inch cubes 3 tbsp broken wheat 2-3 green cardamoms 5-6 cloves 1-inch cinnamon stick 2 bay leaves 1 tsp cumin seeds 3 medium onions, sliced 1 tbsp ginger paste 1 tbsp garlic paste 2 tbsp chilke wali moong dal 2 tbsp chana dal 3 tbsp soaked broken wheat ½ tsp Catch turmeric powder 1 tsp Catch red chili powder Salt, as required ½ tsp Catch garam masala powder 2-3 tbsp coriander leaves 10-12 chopped mint leaves 2 tbsp ghee Accompaniments with Chicken Haleem:

  • Kulcha
  • Roti
  • Rice

1) Heat ghee in a pan. Add green cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves cumin seeds and onions. Sauté till light brown. 2) Add ginger paste, garlic paste and continue to Sautee. Add chana dal, moong dal and dalia, stir well. 3) Add Catch turmeric powder and Catch red chili powder and mix well. 4) Add half a cup water and Sautee for 3-4 minutes. 5) Add chicken cubes, salt and mix. Add 4 cups water and let it come to a boil. 6) Add Catch garam masala powder, coriander leaves and mint leaves. 7) Stir and cover. Cook on medium heat till done. Remove the bay leaves. 8) Blend it lightly using a hand blender and serve hot. Recipe Notes/ Suggestions:

  • Add the spices to the mixture as per your taste.
